HOW IT ALL STARTED:
Heylis Cottage is a small, but well established village shop, owned and run by Sue Lister.

Sue started business way back in 1986 in a tiny kiosk, in the heart of Heybridge, just outside Maldon in Essex.

The name Heylis comes from the 'Hey' in Heybridge and 'Lis' in Lister. Back then it was known as 'Heylis Florist'; the 'Cottage' was added in 1991 when Sue moved the business and her home to the pretty grade II listed cottage in Hatfield Peverel, where you will find her today.
The cottage itself is approximately 350 years old, with a wealth of charm and character, well suited as a florist shop.

Sue started her career in floristry as a Saturday girl, when she was just 15 years old. After leaving school she worked in various florists in Maldon, Colchester and Witham. Sue studied floristry at Otley College in Suffolk, where she achieved excellent results and was awarded a prize for her 'high standard of work'.
That high standard is reflected in her work today.

At Heylis Cottage Florist you will only find flowers that are of excellent quality & value.
There is always a good selection of choice flowers (and maybe even something a little different).
We pride ourselves on treating each and every order individually, taking great care on assuring all items are beautifully presented to create the 'wow!' factor, rather than just another item off the conveyor belt, as you might find
when ordering items from a supermarket chain or call centre.

WHAT WE SELL:

You will find we not only sell flowers but balloons aswell, which we send throughout the U.K. We also sell delightful gifts & even Childrens Wooden Toys! We have our own range of handmade greetings cards, which you won't find in any high street shop.

WHERE WE DELIVER:

All our floral gifts can be delivered throughout Essex. Our funeral tributes are sent to all the surrounding towns and villages, either to the local Funeral Directors or private homes. Any order which is outside our area will be sent via florist2florist. Balloons are sent throughout the U.K.
